After your flight
Customs at Beauvais Airport
When you cross a border you have legal obligations, especially if you are carrying large sums of money or goods bought abroad. French customs publishes the allowances and rules currently in force.
What to watch out for
- Cash: large amounts may have to be declared.
- Purchases made abroad: if you are arriving from outside the European Union, the goods you bring are subject to quantity and value limits (allowances).
- Duty-free purchases: products bought in duty free are also subject to the customs restrictions of the country you are travelling to.
The exact figures for each allowance and the products with special rules are on the official website of French customs: Douane, French customs (in French). If you are travelling to or from the United Kingdom, the same website has a section dedicated to Brexit: customs and Brexit (in French).
