Flying with children and minors from Beauvais

Every child, including babies, needs their own valid identity document. Minors resident in France who travel abroad without their parents also need an authorisation to leave the country.

Before you travel

Airlines offer services for travelling with children and babies, and some also allow minors to travel alone. Check your airline’s conditions:

Every passenger, including children and babies, must carry the documents required by the immigration authorities at their destination. More information under documents and formalities.

Minors travelling without their parents

In 2017 France reintroduced the authorisation to leave the country (AST). It applies to any minor resident in France who travels abroad alone or without one of their parents or legal guardians. In that case, the minor must carry three documents:

  1. Their valid identity card or passport, with a visa if the destination requires one.
  2. The authorisation form signed by a parent with parental authority. You can download it here: AST form (PDF, in French).
  3. A copy of the signing parent’s identity document, depending on their nationality (see table).

At the airport

  • Baby-changing facilities: in Terminal 2 there are baby-changing rooms in the public concourse and in the departure lounge. In Terminal 1 there are changing tables in the toilets in the public concourse and the departure lounge. There are also facilities in the arrivals halls of both terminals.
  • Pushchairs, carrycots, baby carriers and car seats: staff register and tag them at the check-in desks before they go through the security scanner.

Baby food and liquids

Baby food and liquids that children need can go in the cabin with no limit on container size, subject to these conditions:

  • the quantity must be justified by the length of the journey and your stay;
  • all products go through additional checks;
  • security staff may open them to check their contents.
